大理古城｜大理旅游攻略

Dali Ancient City lies at the foot of Cangshan Mountain and faces Erhai Lake. It was the capital of the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms, and also an important town on the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. The city still preserves its Ming and Qing dynasty layout, with crisscrossing cobblestone streets, traditional Bai-style houses, and clear streams flowing through every alley, creating a peaceful scene of “streams in every lane, flowers in every yard”.

Wandering around, you can see the magnificent South Gate Tower and the towering Wuhua Tower with panoramic views. Foreigner Street is full of artistic vibes, while Renmin Road is lively with folk music and daily markets. During the day, you can explore ancient lanes, appreciate traditional tie-dye, and taste local snacks like rushan cheese. In the evening, enjoy the sunset over Cangshan from a rooftop café, or walk along the streets with street singers.
