Jambatan Endau-Rompin (Endau–Rompin Bridge) spans across Sungai Endau, connecting Endau in Johor and Tanjung Gemok in Pahang. It serves as a key section of Federal Route 3 and marks the boundary between the two states. Before the bridge was constructed, transportation across the river relied entirely on ferry services. Vehicles traveling between Johor Bahru and Kuantan had to queue and wait for ferries, with longer delays often occurring during festive seasons and school holidays. With the completion of the concrete bridge, the ferry system was gradually phased out, significantly improving travel efficiency along the east coast route. Today, the river can be crossed within minutes by road. Beyond its functional role, the bridge represents an important transition in regional transportation and development.

Pantai Hiburan

Pantai Hiburan in Kuala Rompin is one of the main seaside spots in the area. While Rompin is often known for its freshwater prawns, this beach is probably the most recognizable coastal stop nearby. Unlike typical coconut-tree beaches, the shoreline here is lined with casuarina trees (Pokok Rhu), providing plenty of natural shade. It’s a place where locals often come to relax, sit around, and enjoy the sea breeze. One of the more unique activities here is clam digging (korek remis) during low tide. Families often come with simple tools and spend time searching for clams along the shore, which adds a more hands-on experience. The location is also very convenient, close to the town center, with basic facilities like toilets and small food stalls available. Overall, it’s not a picture-perfect beach, but if you’re driving along the East Coast and want a casual stop to stretch your legs and enjoy the sea, it’s a nice place to drop by.
