嘉荫堂｜苏州旅游攻略

在同里古镇逛的时候，嘉荫堂其实是一个不算很显眼的小点，但如果走进去，会发现这里的细节非常值得慢慢看。

🌿 基本背景

嘉荫堂建于1922年，是一座典型的江南私家宅院。原主人是当地富商柳炳南，与近代诗人柳亚子同宗，这里当年也曾是文人活动的地方。整体规模不算特别大，但格局很完整，前街后河，是很标准的水乡宅院结构。

🏯 空间与结构

整座宅子是四进院落，木结构为主，从门厅一路走到后院，空间层层展开。相比外面热闹的古镇街道，这里会明显安静下来，更适合慢慢走一圈。

🎭 纱帽厅

嘉荫堂最值得看的就是正厅“纱帽厅”。之所以叫这个名字，是因为梁上的结构形状像古代官帽。

这里的木雕非常精细

梁上雕刻了很多传统故事，比如三国题材

还有八骏图、凤穿牡丹等图案

细节很多，而且保存得很好，是整座宅子最有看点的部分。

除了主厅之外，像门楼的砖雕、水边的小阁楼这些位置也可以顺便看看。整体不会很大，但走一圈会发现细节挺丰富。

嘉荫堂不是那种很热门的打卡点，但属于“越看越有味道”的地方。如果你在同里古镇走累了，可以进来逛一圈，节奏会慢下来，也更能感受到一点江南老宅的细腻感

While walking around Tongli Ancient Town, Jiayin Hall is easy to miss, but once you step inside, it turns out to be one of those places worth slowing down for.

Jiayin Hall was built in 1922 during the Republican era and was originally a private residence of a local merchant family. The layout follows a classic Jiangnan style, with the front facing the street and the back opening toward the water. It’s not very large, but the structure is complete and well preserved.

The house is arranged in multiple sections connected by courtyards, with wooden architecture throughout. As you move from the entrance to the inner spaces, the atmosphere gradually becomes quieter, creating a clear contrast with the busy streets outside.

🎭 Hat Hall Highlight

The main highlight here is the central hall, often called the “Hat Hall.” The name comes from the beam structure, which resembles the winged shape of traditional official hats.

The wood carvings are the real focus

along with traditional motifs such as horses and floral patterns

The level of detail is impressive and makes this space stand out.

🌊 Small Details

Beyond the main hall, there are also carved gate decorations and a small waterside pavilion worth noticing. The space is compact, but full of subtle details if you take your time.

Jiayin Hall is not a major highlight for most visitors, but it’s the kind of place that grows on you the longer you stay. If you need a quiet break while exploring Tongli, this is a good spot to slow down and take in the finer side of a traditional Jiangnan residence 👍
